JUNIOR MISS REEL HER IN RULE UPDATE

AGES 3–15

The Junior Miss Reel Her In title will now be determined by the combined weight of each contestant’s eligible title stringer.

TITLE STRINGER

Each contestant may bring up to six fish for her title stringer:

•One flounder

•One redfish

•One speckled trout

•One white trout

•One sheepshead

•One tripletail

Contestants are not required to catch all six species. A title stringer containing anywhere from one to six eligible fish may compete.

The official weights of all accepted fish on the contestant’s title stringer will be added together. The contestant with the greatest combined weight will be crowned Junior Miss Reel Her In.

Speckled trout and white trout count as two separate species on the Junior Miss title stringer.

Only fish physically submitted and accepted at weigh-in may count toward the Junior Miss title. Catch, Photo & Release entries do not count toward the title-stringer total.

If two contestants have the same combined weight, the contestant whose complete title stringer was officially weighed first will win.

OPTIONAL SPECIES ADD-ONS

Junior contestants may also enter the optional $15 species divisions:

•Flounder Division

•Redfish Division

•Trout Division

•Sheepshead Division

•Tripletail Division

Each add-on must be purchased separately before fishing begins.

A contestant may use a fish from her title stringer for its matching purchased add-on division. She may also submit a different legal fish for the add-on division. A separate add-on fish will not count toward her Junior Miss title-stringer total.

Speckled trout and white trout compete together in the optional Trout Division.

Contestants and their guardians must clearly declare which fish are being entered on the title stringer and which fish are being entered in purchased add-on divisions at weigh-in.

PARENT AND GUARDIAN ASSISTANCE

A parent or legal guardian must accompany each Junior Miss contestant at all times.

•Ages 3–6 may receive assistance baiting hooks, casting and removing fish from the line.

•Ages 7–15 may receive verbal instruction and assistance baiting hooks when needed, but they must cast, hook and actively reel in or land their own fish for the entry to qualify.

•An adult may assist with netting a fish when necessary for safety.

•Adults may immediately assist whenever the safety of a contestant, another person or wildlife is at risk.

Safety always comes first and overrides all tournament rules.
